Mark,
I'm glad it turned out so well! Lisa wish we could have made it. As I said before, I'll be more than happy to assist in setting up another one next year in San Antonio. I think that would be an ideal location and I'm sure we would get a few more people to attend. --John --------------------------- Hey John,
Oh, it was great. I haven't seen any of
these folks since I left Panama in 1990. But, to see Gus Nieves,
Luis Medina, Paul Frank, Brent Bebout, Bob Threm, Paige King, then
Paige Brown, I think, Marilyn Tunstall and her husband Diego
Maldanado, Poly Vargas, Victor Lopez, Jeannette Lee, George Alves,
Ron Phillips, Wanda Boyd, then Wanda Rodriguez, Jorge Guzman,
Octavio Solis, Keith Davis and all of the spouses, friends and the
few kids that came was absolutely amazing. I hope I didn't forget
anyone...
I think everyone had a good time, just
eating, drinking and socializing. A lot of beer, wine and rum was
drunk. I think Ron even had a buzz on and I know I sure did.
I hope I'll be able to swing the next one
whenever we have it in San Antonio. Odds are, I won't miss it for
the world, even if I can't swing it. We had that much fun just
hanging out on Friday and Saturday evenings. If we went to San
Antonio, then we could be the tourists and get out during the
daytime and do some exploring.
Jeannette will be one of the main persons
heading up the San Antonio reunion A date has to be decided on
first though. The reunions will almost always have to be during the
summer for those of us that have children in school. And, that's
quite a few of us.
Ron may not be back home until either
Monday night or Tuesday. I'm sure he'll get the pictures he took up
on the website real quick. He was pretty much snapping shots of
each person there. As the night went on, we took multiple group
pictures of all the Navy folks who were stationed there, all the
women, no matter if Navy or not, then every single person who
attended the reunion. We had one teen take those pictures and he
took shots of the entire group using every single camera that was
there, and it must have been 20-25 cameras.
But, I hope everyone sends their pictures
to Ron. It was wild as anything to catch up with everyone and the
pictures will help us to remember it. Damn, I've never hugged so
many people at one time as I did last night, guys and girls. Bob, I
didn't appreciate that squeeze on my butt by the way. Man, Robert,
you are such a flirt with me. <grin>
Plus, I really had a chance to talk with
several people who I didn't really know and I got to know them. It
was cool.
We will hold a reunion one day in Panama.
With you being right there in Texas, you'll have to slip down for
it. That'll be in a few years. I think I promised Bob last night
that I'd get my in-laws to put us all up on their farm. Hmm, I'm
not sure if they'd go for that or not.
Thanks again, everyone, for turning out for
this. It was great.
